Out the box the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is an exceptional off road machine with its Tru-Lok electronic locking differentials, Dana 44 heavy duty axles front and rear with 4.10 axle ratio, Electronic swaybar disconnect, Rock-Trac 4.1 transfer case low range gearing. Storm Jeeps have taken this Rubicon to another level with the following modifications:

Suspension

The custom Wranglers suspension has been uprated to an ARB Old man Emu Sport system with a 2.5” height increase.

While ride height increases are attained with this kit, emphasis is placed on ride control improvements. Further fine tuning is achieved as the springs are precisely matched to a corresponding set of Old Man Emu shock absorbers, delivering a fully integrated system designed specifically to suit the Jeep. The spring rate has been specifically engineered for the 2 door petrol variant. Extra weight from aftermarket equipment has been accounted for in the spring rate to ensure the suspension is optimum for the Jeep.

The Old Man Emu JK lift uses the Nitrocharger Sport Shock – the most advanced and innovative 4×4 shock absorber on the market. Designed by a dedicated team of OME engineers through an exhaustive vehicle specific development program, Nitrocharger Sport 4×4 shock absorbers deliver the best control, durability and most comfortable ride over all terrain.

Brake line relocation brackets have been developed to reroute factory brake lines to work with this kits’ extended shock lengths – this relieves stress on brake lines resulting from the higher ride height.

An Old Man Emu heavy duty steering stabiliser / damper has also been fitted. This enables increased compression and extension damping performance. This improved performance will assist in the overall ride and control of the JK Wrangler.

Wheels and Tyres

17×9” XHD wheels are Rugged Ridge toughest new design in custom wheels. This Hub-Centric design exactly centers the wheel over the hub providing the best fit possible and the proper clearance for brake rotors, steering components and suspension. Better fit, no wheel vibration! Stainless steel button-head socket cap screws around the perimeter of the outer wheel face give a great 3-piece look and also let you accessorise with our optional trim ring. Each wheel includes a UV-treated polished centre cap that replicates a manual hub for that off road look. The durable powder-coated finish gives an ultra-hard finish for long life and a great look. Rugged Ridge wheels have been independently tested and certified to meet/exceed SAE J2530 standards for wheel strength and durability.

The wheels are fitted with huge 35×12.5” Cooper Discoverer STT tyres have been fitted in place of the factory Goodyear Wrangler Tyres. The Discoverer STT features a computer designed, non-directional tread which employs features such as deep buttress lugs, notched and scalloped shoulder lugs, and a unique centre traction zone for tough off-road driving. The tyre’s heavy duty carcass is constructed of two radial polyester body plies and one angled polyester body ply to deliver 3 plies of protection against impact breaks and bruising.

An AEV Procal module has been used to re-calibrate the speedo and gearbox with the oversize tyres.

Bumpers

The stylish Rugged Ridge XHD modular winch bumper system has been used on the front of the Jeep. The modular design can be customised to provide dozens of different looks and styles. This bumper has been fitted with the high clearance ends and hoop, All bumper components are constructed of heavy-duty textured black powder coated steel with a tough E-Coat under-coating or polished, no rust, prime 304 stainless steel for the ultimate look! The tough finish will provide years of heavy-duty use.

A matching Rugged Ridge XHD rear bumper has been fitted a complete the look.

Winch

The Gen 2si is the latest model from ComeUp. ComeUp winches reputation for quality, durability and innovative engineering won it the selection for use by Artic Truck in Polar expeditions to both the South and the North Poles. The expedition to the North Pole was captured on film by the popular international television program “Top Gear”.

The winch has 9,500lbs pulling capacity using light weight synthetic rope. The Gen2si is IP-68 water rated, meaning it can be operated when fully submerged. Durable matt black powder-coated finish complements the vehicles styling.

The front of the winch features a feedback panel and indicates battery condition, thermal indicator for winch motor and direction of spool.

Lighting

The factory headlights have been upgraded to Vision X Vortex LED headlights finished in black chrome. Legal and engineered for the UK market the Vortex LED Headlight also comes packed with an extremely powerful high-beam and a wide spread low beam. With such diversity in beam pattern, you can rest assured that you’ll have the right lighting for the right scenario at any given time. Equipped with a Halo LED Ring, the headlights feature a bright halo ring that can be active as a day time running light. Having a 7″ halo on the front of your vehicle will not only turn heads, but also provide you with the optimal lighting options for any situation.

The Mopar light bar is neatly contoured to the Jeep windshield and sits low profile, providing mounting points for 4 additional lights.

On the XHD front bumper are additional LED cube light mounted by stylish X-clamps The LED cube lights from Rugged Ridge have been designed, engineered, and tested to ease the abuse caused by off-roading, and optimize your adventure by illuminating the area around you. These LED lights are vibration, corrosion, and submersion tested to meet and exceed standards and provide prime performance during your adventure. The 3-inch square 16 watt light features black powder-coated aluminum housing, stainless steel hardware, and 4 CREE diodes with a 30,000 hour life.

Storage Rack

Front runner roof rack has been used for increased storage capacity. This neat half rack provides a sturdy platform for mounting boxes to store soiled recovery equipment you would rather keep out of your vehicle. The roof rack has many options available for mounting hi-lift jacks, spades, axe’s and many more.

The front runner rack mounting system bolts to the roll bar with middle and rear brackets. This unobtrusive, high performance, nearly indestructible mounting solution allows you to quickly remove the Freedom Panels and works with the hard top or with no roof at all. Freedom Panels can be quickly and easily removed with rack in place. The cargo weight is evenly distributed across the roll bars and body of the jeep, placing zero weight on the fragile hard top.

Exhaust

Twin exit hi temperature black powder coated stainless exhaust by Rugged Ridge. Added flow decreases back pressure and efficiently increases horsepower. The dual exhaust system features slash cut and rounded oval tips for a tough look and awesome sound.
